Some Things Are Impossible To Ignore

A Signature Toast to a Bride Worthy of Legend

When timeless tradition meets theatrical beauty

Client: Private wedding, Tampa Bay

Planner: Til Death Tampa

Bride & Groom: Mary O’Shea & Cillian Byrne

Guests: 150

Objective: Create a bespoke moment of reverence and flair — something unexpected — for the groom’s family to honor the bride.

She bloomed beneath a sunlit bay,

As true as any rose in Tralee.

We lift our glass to Mary’s day —

The pride of all our family.

The Situation:

The wedding of Mary and Cillian was a union of two worlds: her Irish heritage and his Gulf Coast upbringing. The event was already flawlessly designed — white orchids spilled from crystal vases, the linens whispered luxury, the band played airs and reels on a stone terrace.

But Mary’s family had never met a toast like this before.

The groom’s parents, wishing to honor Mary with Irish elegance but in a way that no one would expect, turned to us to create something both symbolic and theatrical. They didn’t want another speech or slideshow. They wanted a moment. One that would be remembered not just by the bride, but by everyone who witnessed it.

The Problem:

Upscale weddings are already full of beauty: florals, fabrics, food, music.

But memorable theatricality — the kind that gets talked about for years — is rare.

Wedding planners are often too overwhelmed with logistics to invent custom moments from scratch. And families, even with the best intentions, don’t know how to translate sentiment into spectacle.

What was needed here was:

showstopping gesture from the groom’s family to the bride

modern tribute to Mary’s Irish roots

live in memory and photographs

The Solution: "The Tampa Bay Rose" — A Signature Toast

We designed a one-of-a-kind drink to serve at the moment of the toast. Here’s what made it unforgettable:

The Drink:

A translucent, pale green cocktail — floral, herbal, and graceful — built from:

The Garnish:

Floating in the center of the glass was a hand-sculpted frozen edible rose, cast in green tea and elderflower. As the drink sat, the rose softened — releasing floral notes into the cocktail like a slow unfolding of memory. Guests gasped when they realized it wasn’t just decoration — it was alive in the drink.

The Presentation:

Each coupe glass stood with a matte black tag tied in twine around its base, bearing a dusty green wax seal of a single rose. On the back: a simple poem from the groom’s father to Mary.

She bloomed beneath a sunlit bay,

As true as any rose in Tralee.

We lift our glass to Mary’s day —

The pride of all our family.

The Moment:

The groom’s father rose, raised his glass, and spoke only the poem.

Then he handed the first glass to Mary.

As she lifted it, the petals in her drink began to soften.

No one spoke — they didn’t need to.
